GAINING VALUE FROM BUSINESS ANALYTICS, MACHINE LEARNING AND AI
Anglo-American University’s School of Business Administration invites all who are interested to the next MBA Open lecture on Thursday, January 18th at 6PM, with the topic “Gaining value from business analytics, machine learning and AI.” The lecture will be hosted by none other than our Chapman MBA lecturer and Associate Professor from the Argyros School of Business and Economics, Ken Murphy, PhD.
About the topic: Business analytics, machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI) are buzzwords attracting attention every day in the media. Automated decision-making, supported by data and models, is already causing market disruption and changing jobs in many industries. What do these changes mean for business in the near and longer term? How will they affect management and jobs? How can we, as managers, be in the right position to take advantage of this new technology-enabled regime? This interactive discussion will explore where things stand and how we can take advantage of the opportunities these developments present.
About the lecturer: Dr. Kenneth E. Murphy has over 20 years of experience working in academia as a faculty member and as an administrator. In his role as Associate Provost at Chapman University, he is responsible for the academic operations of the university as a whole. As a faculty member in the Argyros School of Business, Dr. Murphy teaches and studies in the area of business analytics, statistics and management.
